Who gets to go to war?
We take the most active members in groups of five to war. The number of people who are chosen to goes to war is a number divisible by 5. The size of groups going to war will always be groups of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50. We also take new members who have donated over 50 troops. If you don't have 50 donated before war search, you will not be taken.
=We declare on average 2-3 times a week, but we are essentially always at war. War start time tends to be about 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Ultimately, leadership decides how often we declare based on a number of factors.
When and how often does Summerfell go to war?
War is split into two different days. The first 24 hours is called the Preparation Day. During this time you need to edit the layout of your “war base” on the war map screen. Your “war base” layout is separate from your everyday layout used outside of war. At the start of every war you need to edit and save this layout within the war map. The second 24 hours of war is called the Battle Day. On this day, each team is able to attack members of the opposing clan. Each clan member gets 2 attacks. If one base gets attacked more than once, only the best attack (the one earning more stars or destruction) will be counted towards the stars earned for your team. At the completion of the Battle day, the clan whose members scored the most stars total on their opponent wins.
How does war work?
While at war, the troops that you donate to castles on the war map are the troops that will be released when you are defending against an enemy attack. The clan castle troops that you take with you to attack an enemy need to be requested in the normal part of the game. Most people refer to the castle on the war map as the WAR CASTLE (defensive troops), and the castle on the regular map as the CLAN CASTLE (offensive troops) to help avoid confusion. WAR DONATIONS MADE TO THE WAR CASTLES AND CLAN CASTLES DURING WAR ARE ONLY MADE BY THOSE WHO ARE ON THE "DONATIONS TEAM." This team is made up of our highest level members so that the troops donated are of the highest quality. We appreciate lower level members who are willing to donate, but DO NOT donate during war time.
How do Donations work during war?
On the war map, you will see a list of the people who are included in the war. This list of clan members is organized in order of the strength of their base. This strength is a combination of walls, towers, hero level, town hall level, etc.. In Summerfell we always choose a target that is within 2 ranks above or below our own war rank. Example: If you are rank 18 on the war map, choose a target that is rank 16-20. War targets are first come first serve, so it is wise to attack early as soon as the battle phase of war begin, but always make sure you get confirmation from leadership in chat that it is ok for you to attack your chosen target.

Your second target you will need to ask leadership which would be a target that would help the clan the most. Leadership's responsibility in war is to coordinate attacks so that each member attacks an enemy target that is challenging but also easy enough to get 3 stars on. some members will score 0, 1, or 2 stars on their first attack. In war we try to 3 star all bases. Most members will spend their second attack cleaning up a base lower in rank than them to make sure it has 3 stars.
The upgrade order that members of Summerfell 1775 are expected to follow is as follows:
Upgrade spell factory, clan castle, lab, and start heros immediatly
-Start upgrading troops as soon as lab is done. All troops must be maxed before upgrading to next Town Hall (TH).
-Ask Leadership for advice on troop upgrade order
-Heros (Barb King/ Archer Queen), if applicable at your TH, should be upgraded continously until maxed.
Upgrade all new defenses to previous TH max and army camps to max
-Example: At TH8, you get a 3rd air defense. Build the 3rd air defense and then upgrade it to Level 5 (TH 7 max).
Upgrade air defenses to max
Talk to leadership about building crossbows (TH9 only)
Upgrade all traps, bombs, giant bombs, and teslas to max
Upgrade walls to max
-Note: TH9 needs to upgrade all walls to level 9, not max (level 10)
Upgrade the rest of defenses to max including cannons, mortars, wizard tower, and archer towers
Upgrade walls to level 10 (TH9 only)
